Who is Heidi?
I have spent whole adult life working in theatre and love the similarities to printmaking - the scripts and blocks may not change, but every performance and every print has some unique, unrepeatable magic to it.
I love carving buildings that are enlivened by crowds - street scenes, churches, theatres - and that change over time. The intricacies of old brick and stonework that crumble at different rates. Telephone lines and air conditioning units. Graffiti in alleyways constantly repainted. Churning seas.
I carve with Pfeil tools on battleship gray linoleum and print on a variety of paper (including some homemade recycled stuff) using my Woodzilla handpress. My supplies take up every corner of the one bedroom apartment I share with my sweet spouse and two perfect cats.
